(CLEAN) winxp pro PROBLEMS
My HDD crashed - unrecoverable without a lot of cost. Got new drive, installed, formatted w/ntfs via xp pro setup.
Sys keeps rebooting rpc procedure call - shutting down by nt authority/system
sp1 makes it reboot in a loop.

Welcome to Windrivers sroo2!!
Have you connected to the internet since reinstall?
You had to have if you activated Xp.
Do you see MSBlast running when you check Task Manager/Processes?
Ah, clean reinstall without all the 'fixes" as of yet.
Initiate your firewall, terminate MSBlast (if it is there:there is a variant which isn't so obvious), apply MS updates, install an up to date virus scanner, and then tell us what happens.
