more than 1 GB on a 700mb cd..???
i'm sorry if this question seems warez related but it is really not,
it is a technical question.
there is a disk called 5 in 1 that contains all of the 5 office system 2003 in one cd.
my question is how come a 700mb cd contains more than 1GB of data ???
i burned the iso and open the cd , selected all files ,right clicked and selected properties ang got more than 1 gb of files..
how can that be ????

When you burned did you not compress?
Did the burner software not compress the image?
1gb uncompressed is my guess without knowing exactly what you did and how you did it.

Geezer
Sony I think (goes googling) have some proprietry stuff to allow 1.4 gig on a 'standard' cd ...
Ahh here's something ... Sony set to launch double density CD .. but that's 'old' news ! (dated March 15, 2001) & I can find many others also that 'old' ... but I do remember seeing something much more current, maybe that's the answer & they finally did it ? Only requires a bit of a firmware 'twiddle' apparently, but I can't find anything 'current' on the matter.
Maybe a more 'diligent' googler than I can say one way or the other ...?

donwloaded a normal 700 mb iso , burned with nero.
CD capacity is 700mb on 'my computer'.
CD capacity is 1GB+ when selecting all files inside the CD..
selecting all files and copying them to the hard disk works fine and
copies 1GB+ of files from 1 cd to the hardisk..!!!!!
