More info will be needed such as operating system, what software you are using and the such.

I had the exact same issue with a Creative DvD player years ago, tried putting it in multiple PC's to rule out the OS and the bottom line was, had to get a new DVD player. It was shot..
I would recommend trying it in another PC. Make sure that you have WinDvD or equilivent installed so it can decode the DVD info.

Welcome to WinDriver presfor.
This is a common misconception around here lately.
(Geez there have been several in the last week, right?)
You do not need a driver for DVD.
What you need is DVD read sofware like Diver said:
WinDVD and the like.
Did your DVD drive come with software on a cd?

Actaully I have the same probelm with my Liteon LTD-163. And Windvd and other DVD decoders dont work because windows doesnt even read the disc period. It is a DVD driver problem!

Ooooo ! that word 'Actually' ... grrrr!
First welcome to windrivers PLutonius & edit presfor
Second - DVD's don't require driversthey are an ATAPI class device & as such the standard IDE drivers bundled in windoze(whatever version), the ones used by your hard drive, are what it uses!
If it works as a cd, all you need is some working player s/w.
(There are a host of other problems which can stop it working, usually all attributable in some way or other to bioses, or more correctly windows mis-handling of that. As noted earlier the 'best' way to test any seemingly errant unit is to test it in a known good system, where player s/w works!)
