Norton and installer
Running WinXP Home ed. on my Dell laptop, and was invaded by the blaster virus. Eventually I removed Norton and then had to reinstall. I keep getting an error flag that informs me that the windows installer won't run in safe mode, or the installer is corrupted. please see support personnel. Is the installer labelled msi.exe, and can I remove it and download from Microsoft. Many thanks for any help! Have a great turkey day!

I have had Windows Installer probs with XP in the past as well. How I fixed them is this;
Open the Run box;
Type msiexec /unregister and press OK.
Type msiexec /regserver and press OK.
Also, sometimes running RNAV2003.exe, then trying to re-install will help in your situation sometimes. You can get it by searching at http://www.sarc.com
