Unhappy no sound sound blaster live

i have a gatway pc that i bought about 2 1/2 years ago. it came with a sound blaster live card installed. i believe its sb value. i have a 4 speaker + sub woofer steup. it needs to have the digital output checked to work. i just went to the creative website and got the new drivers. once installed i got no sound at all. im running win xp. i tried unistalling and then windows installs a default sblive driver when i reboot...still no sound. device manager shows all items working properly. all volume levels seem to be right, no mute. im at my wits end...i want to smash my pc..pleease help. (i had sound before the new drivers)

Welcome to Windrivers kingofthething.
Let us hope it is just a coincidence.
Perhaps you should have used the driver rollback option?
Anywho:
Shut down the PC an remove the card.
Reboot and remove all SB drivers if any are left in device manager.
Shut down and put the card back in another PCI slot.
Reboot and let XP load the drivers.
Let us know what happens.
