SUS using SMS?
I have tested SUS successfully on about 5 machines and I love it alot. Works great. I want to use this for our Network, however, I need to modify the settings on say over 1000 machines to set up SUS the way I want it to and also to tell them machines with Windows Updates to point to the server in the registry. Has anyone used SMS to shoot out a script or some package to change this on all their machines to begin using SUS??

We are implementing SUS but not in my department but I thought you created a group policy and aply it the OU of system machines? Are using it in a Active? Then that changes the systems to point it to the SUS server. No need to run a script.

I have implemented SUS some time ago, it's set through group policy, takes 2 minutes to set and works like a charm... Oh, and clients can't change any setting.

I'm evaluating the deployment of SMS 2003 at work and I think I'll have to take a closer look at SUS now, from reading your comments.
I can already see the benefits and I'm sure my superior will too.

Win Nt!
We aren't in Windows 2000 Active Directory Domain yet....hopefully this year but we are a Win Nt domain and I need to change it on all the machine which are mostly Windows 2000 machines out there I would say 90% of them and most of them are at SP2 or SP3. So I would need to use SMS right to change the settings?
