Thanks,
Hp has changed their repair procedures for nearly all of their products. Most models must now be sent in for servicing directly to Hp. They charge a flat fee that is dependant on the base value and type of product you are sending in for repair. The flat fee for Notebooks is $399 Canadian according to the last information HP sent me on this new support model. This means that anyone who sends it in pays $399 regardless of the problem. It could be a $50 fan or a $600 mainboard you always pay $399.

other than e-bay your chances of finding replacement parts is pretty slim. If the fan is just noisy, take it out, clean it and carefully peel the sticker from it that covers the fan bearing. Put a drop or two of 3-in-1 oil in it, give it a few turns and put the sticker back on. It may fix it for you without having to order any replacement parts for it.

Actually Using HP....

Is not a bad idea for smaller parts like that, I just purchased a fan/heatsink from them for an Omnibook XE3 and it was only like $21. Plus they have manuals online that will walk you step by step through the process......
