Windows 98 will not boot.
Hi I have been having this problem for a couple of weeks. the computer in question is not my only computer, otherwise I would not be able to communicate with you. It is an older compaq Presario 1235 with a broken CD-ROM drive. I have an external RW CD drive, an Iomega with software installed. The system started up once since I installed the software for the external drive, but has not started up since. I did burn a partial CD to make more space on the C drive. I have about 1 gig of clear space on the 3 gig hard drive.
I can start in safe mode but cannot access the internet or the external drive in safe mode. When I try a regular boot I get messages like Wnstssv and Msqsrv 32 not responding. Then the situation just deterioriates and I have to shut it down with the off button.
Does anyone out there have any ideas on how I can get past this problem?
