    Problem with Mail migration Wizard

I am trying to replace an old server running Server2000 and exchange 2000 on my network with a new on running SB Server 2003. It seems to have issues, one with joining the domain, and the other with connecting to the old Exchange box.

I followed the deployment guide precisley, no luck.

Trying to connect to the domain, in either the Active server migration tool, or with the exchange migration tool, I get "Cannot connect, check that the name, port, logon id and password are correct" (Error code = 54b) I can't find error code 54b on MS.

I also do not want this new server to be the PDC, I'd rather it runs as a BDC, and am not sure how to force it to run as bdc.

    Any help will be welcome.

Just a quick thought, I don't think you can run an SBS 2003 server as anything but a PDC. This may be what is causing you issues with joining the domain too?

I have almost zero experience of SBS above 4.5 but certainly this was the case in that version, the SBS had to be PDC.

Could be way off here but have a quick search on those tracks and see what you come up with.

Post back and let us know how you get on, if necessary I'll have time to look around some more for you tomorrow.

If I have to run it as PDC, thats OK, not prefered, but OK, but it still won't talk to the existing Exchange/2k server, but right now, the old 2k server won't talk to anyone
