Toshiba laptop monitor twinkling

Hello,
I have a laptop Toshiba TE2100 run Win Xp Pro. Recently when I turn on power, it runs about 5-10 minutes then monitor is twinkling then is OFF (monitor). I move the monitor abit then it's ON again. But for around 15 minutes it's OFF again and then only ON when being touched. I connect to external monitor, it's still working well. I turn off all Power management function so it's not the problem from software, I guess. Is it a problem from connection of monitor? How to fix it? Should I open the laptop to check monitor connection? (Well I'm newbie and I have no idea of opening a laptop). Or my laptop monitor is going to die :-((?
Thank you

So welcome to windrivers nvietha ..

(I wrote a 'rude bit' on your other duplicate thread )

Pretty certainly since 'touch' is involved its faulty hardware - maybe just dry solder/faulty connection most likely, but taking laptops to bits isn't a procedure for a 'newbie'

You want to find yourself a nice friendly computer tech to do it for you most especially since its 'likely just a soldering problem' & shouldn't cost so much as the expensive bits are all apparently still 'good' .. so it ought to be just a matter of taking it appart & 'fixing' whatever is amiss with the cabling/connection ..

The issue you are likely to encounter is that some 'nasty' tech is gonna want you to pay for a new screen which might work out more than the a new lappie ! Get a quote up front & use your best judgement .. about 2/3 hours is what I'm guessing it should take plus a few $ for any bits used/changed .. but that's my 'guess' from way over here ...

The lappie you name though is pretty new .. no warranty left ?

If its a TE2100, then it has a 3 year warranty. Call Toshiba to find the nearest warranty service center in your area and take it there. Hardware repairs on notebooks are not for newbies.
