pcmcia problem

i have a dell inspiron 1100 with xp home on it.
i just got a pcmcia silicon image sata card. when i insert the card the system freezes or if it is inserted when the system boots it freezes when it gets to the windows loading screen.
i have tested the slot with other pcmcia cards and they work fine
i also put the sata card into a dell inspiron 5150 running xp pro and it worked fine
the system also freezes if i run safe mode when the card is inserted

is your CardBus drive the TI4410? (check: configuration screen -> system -> hardware -> PCMCIA adapter)

I am experiencing the same problem! I will make a new tread describing my problem... a bit more detailed :-)

So welcome to windrivers paddyb.

& for reference here's jorgen's 'other' thread wireless network card incompatible?! , which indeed does look most 'similar' ! (I've ventured a bit of an answer on that one).
