problem with SATA drives
I have a problem, where windows server 2k3 will not recognize my SATA Raid 0 drives, they won't show up in 'my computer'.
However, if I boot that same computer up in Windows XP pro they work fine.
Another thing is that win server thinks that they are a 'SCSI' device.
And yes, all the drivers are installed correctly
Help would be appreciated

Windows is lazy, if it ain't ide, it must be scsi.... don't worry about it.
there is some good general info here
Since this is 2k3 and xp works, I assume the disks are partitioned correctly. Does 2k3 see them properly in disk management?
I think we are looking for a service that is on in xp and defaults off in 2k3...however I don't have sata, so thats as far as I can go right now.

Hmm, I hadn't noticed this. I've got SATA drives running in XP and Server. They're displayed same way you mentioned (IDE in XP, SCSI in Server).
I don't have any insight to offer (disk manager like NooNoo said is the first place to look) but I think this is curious.
