I have a dream.
With apologies to MLK.
I have a dream:
That one day processors will be judged by how fast they work not how many megahertz they were born with.
I have a dream that one day all software be judged on its stability and simplicity and not on features I’ll never use.
I have a dream that one day all hardware will be carry a 3 year warranty and be supported by people who speak my language.
That one day all motherboards will have an available video card slot regardless of the cost of the computer.
That one day a full OS install disk will be provided as well as a recovery disk.
That one day all software will inform me in big block letters if it will send out personal info to its servers or install other programs behind my back
That one day I will have a choice other than Windows yet with more features than Linux.
That one day all computer techs will refuse to work for big chain stores who will then get out of the computer sabotaging business.
That one day the Microsoft Knowledge Base will be understandable to all techs who know the difference between format and fdisk.
That one day a computer will be judged on the quality of its construction and not on the price it’s sold at.
That one day a full copy of the antivirus of my choice with one year of updates will be sold with every computer regardless of its price.
That one day Microsoft will release software that doesn’t require constant patching.
That one day full frontal nudity will be allowed in the windrivers tech lounge.
