Master Boot Virus removal
Can someone please enlighten me on removing this virus remotely. I may have to tell the client over the phone what to do.
her Norton 2000 says:
Virus name: Bloodhound.Exploit.12
File: Master Boot Record for Physical drive number 0
Location: Boot Record
My partner did those and he's gone now, so I'm playin' catch up
If you can help please do so with sequential detail if possible.
Thanks in advance.

That depends on the OS shannon, but in general terms:
95/98/ME get the relevant boot disk and type
fdisk /mbr
hit return
sys c
hit return
at the a: prompt
2k/XP boot from cd, go into repair console and type
fixmbr
hit return and accept warning
fixboot
hit return and accept warning
NT I am not sure on, but you may need the Emergency Repair Diskettes
