Angry winxp.exe

Norton antivirus shows this file is infected with the beagle virus. Is it a system file? Can it be deleted? What do I do to clean it? Norton won't do it.

I'd say virus. I have a new laptop with a clean install of XP Pro and can find no file called xp.exe.

A quick search revealed this site which says it's a virus.

Get rid of it. Check the sticky in the security forum here or follow the instructions on the site just linked.

...and welcome to Windrivers forums

Here's another virus possibility using the same WinXP.exe: http://securityresponse.symantec.com...nfex.b@mm.html
