Ariel Sharon-Genius.
His plan is working so well its scary. First he builds the wall which tells the Palestinians they have a country. It's not the one you want but you have it. This was designed to get the Palestinians thinking about running their country instead of just blaming Israel for everything. And gets them wondering what Arafats doing with their money.
Then he says he's leaving the Gaza Strip. In Gaza Hamas is very strong, maybe stronger than Arafats faction. Now the Gazan factions are fighting each other instead of Israel. And no matter which side wins Israel wins. If Arafat wins he has been forced to confront Hamas. If Hamas wins Israel now has a government to face and not an amorphous terrorist force. And the Gazans will focus on their new country and how to run it. And if Hamas attacks Israel with terrrorism Israel can attack the government and government services of a country, not a terrorist group. Which puts Hamas in the position of having to provide services in the face of Israeli retaliation.
Is it just me or this genius?

I wasn't commenting on the other stuff he's done (sabra and shatilla camps comes to mind) but he's come up with something that has a chance of working. And I never thought anyone would.

It's way too early to say this is genius. If in 5 years it's produced some positive results and the amount of terrorist murders has gone down to 0 then yes, I'd say the man's idea was pure genius.
