AVG-Driver core not found?
Jusy got back from a stay in the hospital and booted up my WinXP Pro PC and get the error message "Driver (core) not found winerr=2".
This error is in AVG 6 free version (I know you get what you pay for), but AVG doesn't seem to have a real good solution other than upgrading to Pay Version 7. It seems to affect a lot of Win2000 and WinXp PC's and seems to be caused by AVG looking for a system file in Win95.
The only solution I have found is to uninstall and reinstall. Fortunately I have it saved on a CD, but wondering if anybody knows of a work around before I uninstall?

I have had the same problem you described. I tried to uninstall AVG and install it again. This did not work. The same error-message keeps popping up. Have you found a solution to the problem or have you just switched to another virus program?

After uninstalling I ran a freeware program RegCleaner to get out all the pieces left in the registry. You can also go into Regedit from this program (if you are familiar with the registry) and do a search for anything left behind. But just uninstalling and running RegCleaner and reinstalling AVG with the updates took care of the problem.
