problem reading burned CD
Laptop: Toshiba 2650 DVD
OP: win2000.
Problem: About Month ago, it could not read burned CD. Before that, it worked well.
Error info: The disk in drive E: is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?
Current situation: It can read formal CD (I mean not the burned one), bought software CD, but cannot read burned CD, whatever burned on the CD, music or software, clips.
It is very strange, isn't it? Has anybody met this before? Does it need clean?

This could be a couple of things....
The first thing is that your aspi layer may have become corrupt.... you can get an update here double click the downloaded file and install it. Check it has installed correctly by finding the adaptec folder it created and double clicking aspichk.exe
The second is that the UDF reading has corrupted. The fix to this depends on what was used for burning the cd in the first place, and what windows. Please post this info for further help.

Geezer
Tried the aspi update ? please confirm ..
Which DVD / CD format: ISO or UDF? will hopefully answer about UDF for you.
Also version number of Roxio Easy CD please, as well as service pack status/level on both 'burning' & 'reading' machines.
