Browsers won't open
I'm running 98SE. Every time I try to start IE6, the old hourglass appears for about 10 seconds like something's gonna happen, it never does. Cursor goes back to normal but browser doesn't start. Had problems with IE,Netscape,Opera. Uninstalled Netscape and Opera. No help. Can run task manager and iexplorer is lited as running but I see no evidence of that. Help please.

Hi DRM
Try running system file checker [start/run SFC /scannow].If that doesnt help try an over the top reinstall to the same directory.

Welcome to WD DRM.
Before taking drastic measures, has the IE worked before and what method are you using to connect to the internet? There is the possibility, since you said the IE is running in the task manager, of trojan infections and/or a corrupted winsock. More info would help as to determine problem.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, IE has worked for quite a while with my wireless network at home. I use a Linksys USB/WAP. I can run Outlook so my connection to the internet is good I believe.
