Configuring 2 Access Points
Hi,
Here's what I want to achieve:
House 1 has broadband with wired router, house 2 approx 60metres away has no internet connection.
I have 2 Dlink DWL-2000Ap+ access points, one of which I will install and hard wire to the router in house 1. This AP will operate in Access Point Mode.
The second AP will go in house 2 and will operate in Repeater Mode to provide internet access wirelessly. I also have two antenna's attached to both AP's.
My problem is that althought AP in house 1 is working ok, the AP in repeater mode doesn't seem to be working. I cannot ping it at all. I have done a survey from the this AP and it detects the AP in house 1. I have assigned the MAC address in the AP in repeater mode to the MAC address of the AP in House 1 correctly. Both SSID's on each AP are the same and they are on the same subnet.
No matter how much I fiddle with this I cannot get it to work. Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated as I cannot get through to Dlink tech support.
Best Regards
Paul Rowling
