    X800XT Question.

    Hello,

    I finally have my long awaited PC.
    Originally I ordered a X800XT in it.. however, when looking in system specs, there shows up as GFX: X800... is this normal? I don't know anyone who has a X800XT so hope to find someone here who can tell me what it says on his PC. I suppose if there is a X800XT in it, it should show up as an X800XT instead of X800 or am I wrong?

    Thanks for the time and help and have nice year end!

    Hi TechZ, Merry Xmass to you

    Well, when i go to display properties, then settings, there it says :
    1. Plug and play monitor on RADEON X800
    and
    2. (Default monitor) on Radeon X800 Secondary
    I suppose nr2 the default settings which i changed when i got it.

    When I go 2 Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager, Display Adapters, i get both as result..when i click on properties it says : Radeon X800. When i click on the one with the name as in nr2. above it gives me that name..

    Where should I go look to be sure? Opening my case is last option (warranty loss).

    Thanks allready and enjoy your day.
    Cali.

    Use the everest system tool to interigate the hardware and check the specification listed in there.
    Seems there up to four varieties of the card depending on the connection:

    AGP bus configuration (8X/4X/Universal AGP 3.0):

    * RADEON® X800 PRO and
    * RADEON® X800 XT PLATINUM EDITION.

    PCI Express™ bus configuration:

    * RADEON® X800 XL
    * RADEON® X800 XT
    * RADEON® X800 XT PLATINUM EDITION.

    Okay. done that! Thanks, seems a cool tool btw.
    It seems an X800Xt chip allright.. and it has 16 pipelines so gotta be the rightone..
    I thought it would show up as one also then though.
    I' ll show a pic.. then maybe you can confirm this?
    If such a pic is not allowed then sorry for this. Tell me and I will instantly remove it.

    Heres a review which includes the Pro and the XP model both compete well with the opposition and at a quick glance across the stats for a variety of modern games shows the small margin between the two performance wise is minimal if at all noticable during game play.

    Thanks for that link. I wasn't really afraid about the performance. It's just that I paid for it so want it to be in the PC which is normal i think. The XT is 100 euro (dunno how much taht is in $ sorry) more expensive than the X800 pro i think. So that's why i want to know it
    I don't like the idea that they've putted anotherone in without asking something

    Anyway, thanks a lot and have a nice day

    A review on XBit Labs shows the difference with a pic of the memory used for the 800XT and the 800 Pro : http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/vid...ay/r420_4.html .
