Angry xp pro & win server 2003

    Hi guys,
I have 2 hdds, the original 1st hdd has xp pro and a month ago I installed the server 2003 trila version into the other hdd. Both worked fine. After the trial period ended, I couldn't log into the server so I was trying to uninstall wasn't successful. Finally, formatted the 2nd hdd.

But the annoying this is I still get at boot up the os choice menu, even though I no longer has the server os installed.
My question is how can I remove the os choice menu at boot up?

    Thanks guys,
    Ehdison

The Boot.ini file on your c: drive, be sure to turn off the read only attribute if it's on, and you can go in and edit the lines out that you don't want. I always suggest that you create a backup copy of the file before changes are made, just to be safe.

    hey Ya_know ,

I couldn't find the boot.ini file. I did a search with the hidden file and system file open selected but still didn't find the boot.ini file but found the boot.ini.backup at location C:\WINDOWS\pss and there I saw the xp pro and server 2003. Where could my boot.ini file be? Is there any possiblity that the file might be under different name?

    thanks

    Go Start-->Run-->type c:\boot.ini
    then edit it

    or

My Comp Properties-->Advanced-->start up and recovery and then EDIT

You can also use the msconfig feature built-in to Windows
    (Less chance of hosing something).

Go to "Run" -> Type msconfig -> Click "boot.ini" tab

Edit, save and reboot. This way is a little more user-freindly.

    Thanks all you guys,
I didn't realize the startup & recovery option neither the msconfig. I used the msconfig to set the order of booting but haven't notice the boot.ini file. Thanks guys now I now.
