Nvidia GeForce4 MX 4000 causes flickering in graph_accelerat_needed games
Hi,
trying to upgrade M810LR,192MB RAM,40GB HDD,CD-R,FDD, WinXP (Home edi****on) with a AVG Graphic card, for my son to be able to play not only Diablo1, NFS2 and stuff, but also 3D Graphic acc needed games like Aquanox,ColinMRae3, NFSU, Platoon and other. No doubt I had my problems placing it in, trying various drivers, then I reckoned I need to boot with monitor in...Nvidia drivers work very fine, no prob with 1024/768, 85Mhz, videos...very fine. But all games that need graphic card (and also some which don't (Harry Potter..) ) flicker a lot with red&green patterns, 3D textures uncompact, fallout often, texts like "twice", like eroding, not playable at all. Please help unless I'll get a hard punch from that guy!

Hi,
yes, I have Dx 9...at wirst I thought it could be that, while an old comp would Dx 8 suit better, but all the previous upgrades should be in that Dx 9 version as wel...,,...And the card....Nvidia GeForce4 MX 4000 is in the "System" in the comp and "ASUS V9400 MX 4000 on Nvidia chip" is written on the box I bought...should be the very same, or?

That is a really underpowered card to play the games you want, Diablo 1 maybe ok, but NFS, Colin MCRae and teh rest need a better graphics card.

If you want to game, you need a good pc, and it all depends on what youre ready to spend, you can build a budget gaming pc from 800$US to well US$2500 and then the sky is the limit.
At the moment what is your pc's specifications, including what you've already mentioned in your first post?
