Could you please be more specific with your problem? Are you unable to use Nero or some other recording software? Is it not showing up at all in "My Computer"?

Err umm .. it doesn't see it on a cold boot (when pressing the on button), but it will on a warm one (when reset is pressed)

I'd say things like this are often cured by flashing the motherboards bios (that's where the routines that decode any devices geometry & therefore recognition live) & many writers only like to work correctly when connected as 'slave' on an ide channel of their own with many combinations of other drives present ..

ED-it : & of course Welcome to windrivers forums morrigan

That's what I would try first. Try the different combos by changing the jumper settings. You also may want to try a new IDE cable just to be sure.

ED-it, huh? I like that one.

hey,

The software is irralevant, you can't see the drive in my computer and not in device manager.

The thing is on a cold boot he sometimes does everything ok (he recognize it) and other times not.

I have a asus P4P800-vm motherboard and the bios hasen't been flashed.

The lite-on is on the second ide with my plextor cd writer.
I'm gonna try the suggestion of putting the lite-on as slave

I will let you guys know if it worked

Thanks for the repond
