Problem please help
Sony VAIO® S150
The laptop boots up past the "VAIO" screen but requires a password in a DOS bios screen that I do not have to proceed further.
how can i reset this?

Welcome to the forums
Why dont you have the password? Isnt this your laptop?
If you have recently purchased it, take it back to the shop and tell them, or contact Sony.

i am planning to buy one like this off ebay, it's cheap so i want to know if this can be reset?

Has it occurred to you that perhaps there's a reason its cheap? You need Sony or an authorized tech to reset. If you cant prove ownership, they wont.

how can i reset this?
try the master passwords if the system is Pheonix BIOS.
try all of these one at a time.
phoenix, PHOENIX, CMOS, BIOS
