    AC97 sound distorted

I have new Altec Lansing Series 120 speakers and have an AC97 sound card. They sound like they are on helium. Any help???

    Welcome to WD forums Jennifer.

Helium or chipmonk type sounds are generally 'wrong driver' issues .. 'AC97' is a trade name for a codec set, which folks think is the brandname of their soundcard , so can you tell me/us more ? We need the exact soundcard details, which we can probably fathom from your PC's make & model, or you can tell us perhaps by running a utility like Everest home edition & then you relaying that to us..
