    CMOS reset time

i posted earlier about clearing the CMOS password but i don't think i'll get any replies to that. my question now is this: how long does it take for the CMOS to reset after the CMOS battery has been removed? i was able to get it out of my laptop and it's been out for an hour now. i have heard anything from 5 minutes to 24 hours....anybody know?
