    Question Scanner calibration problem

    whenever I try to scan anything I get a error
    that reads"!Error Code: 7 calibration failed".I
    read the manual and it skiped right over what to
    do to fix this problem. Granted its an older scan-
    ner,but if this is something that can be fixed please help. Its a (Info ImageReader Ultra model
    FB735).

    Sound to me like your scanner has seen better days. There are a couple of things you can check.

    Look inside and see if there is anything loose inside.
    Make sure the drive belt isn't broken or frayed.
    During the calibration, watch and see if it hangs anywhere during the scan.

    Other than that(or possibly new drivers), I would say get a new one.

    Before you go out and buy a new one, how old is it and is it still under warranty?

    Did it work fine before and just stop working? Did you add any software or upgrade the OS?

    Is it USB / Parallel?

    I'd say disconnect it, uninstall the drivers. Remove it from the registry (if you know how to do that).
    Go into device manager, make sure it is out of there.
    Then, go to the manufacturer's web site, download the latest drivers.
    Then install the scanner (scanner then software if parallel, software then scanner if USB).
