Lexmark z-22 Printer, doesn't install at all.
I'm trying to install a Lexmark z-22 printer, using XP.I've tried every z-22,z32 printer driver that is posted for this printer at the Lexmark site.I did have the printer installed once, but then I started to receive fatal error messages from the OS.I believe this led to a total failure of the OS,as I was eventually dumped at the dreaded black screen of an unbootable drive.Has anyone else had problems with printers? Can a half of a bone printer toast XP?Any ideas?

Since you think it's hosed up your system, try Deleting that sucker completely and start all over again. Go here for Windows® XP & Lexmark Printing Solutions. It looks like the drivers are already on the WinXP CD...you might try using that one first. Then try the downloaded updated drivers from the website.
To answer your question, no, this should not bring your system to a halt. Sounds like you've got IRQ conflicts or something of that sort. Check Device Manager for error messages, etc.
As a last resort, you might try contacting their Tech Support.
Let us know how it goes...Good Luck!
