hey,

Im having problems installing and uninstalling programs.
I get this error

when uninstalling programs. I have searched google for a fix, but it still doesnt work.
When I try to install programs it just runs the setup box in the bottom right, but thats it, it disappears and then nothing happens

If anyone could help thanks!

Does this happen when trying to uninstall all programs? What programs are yuo trying to delete?

When did it start, what happened before the problem occured, did you delete anything.

Have you been to windows updates to see if its got anything for you and have you done a sfc a system file check to make sure all windows files are correct?

It souds like the windoows installer itself maybe damaged.

Hi,

It started today, I had done a system restore last night, cause I downloaded a program called advance system optimizer (I was told about it by a friend) and i used one of the system clean options that deleted old files to tidy up the hardisk, and after I had done a clean up, and rebooted, I got an error about "ole" couldn't load up, once windows had booted to the desktop. so this is why i done the system restore, mabye the hardisk clean up has deleted some important files? The problem doesnt happen on all programs, just a few, the main problem that is can see is my usb mouse, I cant uninstall it. It gives the problem about the support files not being there. If I try to install it, the setup runs to 100% but then it blinks and disappears, and nothing happens.
