Commit charge total keeps increasing

I have a site that has a HP d530 mt and after they installed MS office 2000 they keep getting low virtual memory. Well I increased the page file to the appriate size. I also killed all the extra applications that were starting up upon restart(in the Registry). Still I watch the commit charge total climb throughout the day until the memory is gone and the system crashes. Would MS office cause a memory leak? if not what else could cause this?

Try installing sp2 for office 2000. You didn't say if they use excel or not, but there was an excel memory leak fixed by that service pack
