Geforce4 TI4800SE Vs FX5500 - Which one?
Hi.
Fairly simple question. I would appreciate your thoughts on this.
I have a choice between:
Gainward TI4800SE, 128Mb (Golden Sample)
and
Gainward FX5500, 256Mb
both AGP 8x
Which one would you go for? I know that the FX5500 is newer (and has double the RAM) but still, something tells me I should perhaps stick with the TI.
Thanks a bunch!
Cheers,
Phoebus

Ignore Something. He isn't your friend. He's lying to you because he covets the 5500 for himself. The 5500 is a much more capable card, but I think you ought to be looking at the 6000 range, at least.

Hi slgrieb and thanx for the reply.
I know that I should be looking at more "higher" choices but right now I'm stuck with just these two! :s
So I guess I'll take your advice and go for the 5500.
Thanks a bunch once again!
Cheers,
Phoebus

Why are you "stuck" ??? You might see that the price of a newer (and much better) card isn't so high. Not talking about a 7800GTX, but even a 6600 or 6800... those are in the 100-150 range, but you can get an open box for some $70.
