    Need some help...please

Not sure if this is the correct forum, if not please move it.

Recently, after reformatting harddrive and reinstalling software with HP recovery disk. I'm having the following problems that I did not have before. Any help is much appreciated.

    1. I'm getting a pop-up for PCI serial controller driver, says it cant find one.

    2. My external hp cd writer is not working and I have installed the software for it, checked all connections

    3. My hp deskjet 960c is not working and the software is installed, checked all connections, when you try to print, it says printer is not online

After running the driver agent scan at driveragent.com, it says the following are missing but they charge like $30-40 to join and download

Intel 82371 AB/EB PCI Busmaster IDE Controller
    PCI Serial Controller
    Master Riptide PCI audio device

    Also, os is windows 98

    Thanks!

    Welcome to Windrivers itsajeepthing..

I'm guessing you have a hp pavillion of some description? What's the model number?

All the Drivers are usually on HP.com here If you tell us the model you have we can point to the exact FREE drivers.

EEEK you have that riptide combo... this is a good page about riptide with links to the drivers. You have the ROCKWELL combination, not the Chameleon.

the specification of your machine is here

You need to load the intel drivers FIRST they are here Click on the "Download INF Update Utility [INFINST_ENU.EXE]" link
