how do i recover my floppy drive error: cannot read file"
i have a big assignment in this stupid disk and its handed in today. this is emrgency, please help.

Try using Scandisk or Spinrite on it....if those can't help you, then grab a shovel, dig a 6 foot hole, and jump into it, because if those can't do it, nothing can.
You MIGHT want to check the temp files on your hard drive though....there might be a copy there if you opened it recently.

Sometimes, the heads on the floppy drive will get dirty and can be cleaned with alcohol. Some of the PC stores (including Radio Crap) have floppy drive cleaners. Also, make sure that the little sliding door on the floppy disk opens up freely...if not, then that is probably the problem.

Also, like Bryan suggested above, check your Documents folder on your desktop...it just might be there unless you've already cleared it.
