    Question PCMCIA READER ERROR

Had Win95C ugraded to Win98 now my PCMCIA reader wo'nt work it claims that
"Windows is not able to identify or use the inserted PC Card device. You must make
memory are available before this device can be used. Check your computer's
CONFIG.SYS file for a memory manager that is excluding upper memory regions
between A000 and FFFF." There is nothing in my config.sys of the sort. I am running a
Dell Optiplex GX1 PII 400 w/128 ram. Bios A07(latest) scanner to parrellel port. jazz
drive w/own scsi card. CD burner w/own scsi card and antec PCMCIA reader w/own
    controller card.

I use PCMCIA reader to read 270 meg and 1 gig hardives that I use in my Hitachi
    MP-EG1A digital camera.

Antec Tech Mgr sent me Cardworks software but it says it can not find sscswg.vxd to
work although a search shows it is in Windows\System directory.

In the system\device manager\PCMCIA socket\pcic or compatible pcmcia controller\properities resources tab it shows no memory conflict. In fact the only thing it shows is "Input/Output Range 03E0 - 03E1"

    HELP..

Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing the reader and software?
I had a similar problem when I bought some used pcmcia drives recently. Re-installing fixed the problem.
