mcicda.drv
I had to reinstall win98 and from this new installation, i can not read any audio cd whith my Hitachi GD-2500 DVD-Rom Drive. If I try it, win 98 stop to respond (even ctrl-alt-del). I observe that if i don't load mcicda.drv in win.ini, i cannot read cd audio but the computer continue to work correctly. What can i do to resolve the problem ? (I already tried to extract this file from win98 CD whith success but it don't change anythink) Thanks for your answer.

have you tried uninstalling all the sound drivers and going into add/remove programmes and removing the multimedia, rebooting and then adding it back again?
