[RESOLVED] IBM and ESS woes
Greetings all-
I am trying to get an ESS sound card to work in an older IBM. I think it was factory installed. In Control Panel-System, the section "ES1868 Plug and Play AudioDrive (WDM)" I am getting the yellow ! and the following message:
"The NTKERN.VXD, MMDEVLDR.VXD device loader(s) for this device could not load the device driver (code 2). To fix this click Update Driver to update the driver."
Now when I click the button, it goes thru the whole driver installation process again, prompts for the reboot. Upon reboot, there is no sound, and the same message (above) in Control Panel.
i have tried removing this device from Control Panel, and re-installing the drivers from fresh a download, and also the Win98 CD.
Any suggestions?

try removing it from safe mode and try again, update the drivers asap.
Or buy a cheap 15$ sound Card.
