    Post drivers for Presario 7596?

    I have a Compaq Presario 7596 which I recently f-disked and reinstalled 98 on. Since then, the OS does not recognize the modem and device manager says the following devices are installed but have a problem: PCI card, PCI multimedia audio device.
    The problem is that drivers cannot be found for these devices. Where can I find them? Do I need drivers for ESS Sound Card and, if so, which one?
    Could they be found on the D:\systemsave drive, which is still intact and that contains the "DATA" folder that compaq says is the one for quick restore? Please help.
