    Resolved [RESOLVED] Sound Problem Revisited

I reciently posted my problem with scratchy sound. After a week of fiddling with it, I decided to simply buy a new sound card. Not needing a SB Live I bought an ISA AWE/64. However, I installed it, and the scratchy sound remained! I then proceeded to reformat the HD and reinstall Win98, hoping it was a problem from the lingering drivers of my old SB16. However, the problem still remained. I once again downloaded the latest drivers from Creative Tech Support, and the problem still remained. Thus, I am going out to you all to help me. I do have one clue. When I run DirectSound tests using DXDiag, all the 8-bit sounds play perfectly, but when it plays 16-bit sounds, the hissing sound comes out.

    Hope you can help,
    Lews

Is your computer AT form factor or earlier? It doesn't sound like a software problem but a hardware problem, thus the previous question.
