SB Live Platinum and poof?
I recently upgraded to a platinum sb...the install didnt take...I got emm386 not found, memory manager not loading on the first boot and then the system would reboot itself! I messed with it a bit then called creative...three hours later....no change...So I reloaded my compter from scratch...windows no problem...tnt2 ultra no problem...ethernet card no problem...then sound blaster and poof again. by renaming config.sys/autoexec.bat to cli files the machine does boot past the errors and I am functional but I want to fix it! help!
The machine is an athlon box.sd11 motherboard(bios nc607) adaptec 2940u2w cheetah 9.1, twin plextor cd-roms.intel lan card.tnt2 ultra and 128 mb of pc100 sdram.

I would try downloading the latest version of liveware 3.0 from the Creative website and install that instead of using the cd that came with the card.

I had the some errors. I think the installation cd just doesnt work, 'cos the live ware 3.0 I downloaded worked fine. But it's possible to use the installation cd, you just have to manually install the drivers without using the creative installation program.

I know I'm a little late here , but I just had the same problem with a Bell, Cell, Hell, I mean Dell PC. You need to make sure the EMM386 line read....
Device=C:\Windows\EMM386.exe M6 I=E000-E3FF
Fixed my prob anyway.
