[RESOLVED] Dodgy missing sound, pls help!!!
OK when i boot up my cpu i get the error message.
'The SBPCI interupt has been routed incorrectly by the system. AudioPCI inactive. Use automatic settings in device manager'
And i get no sound, i tried to do what it says but the device manager says it is on automatic. and i think my motherboard isn't correctly installed??
Does anyone have any ideas whats going on?

make sure your bios is set to plug and play operating system.

I had this problem with an older via chipset motherboard and Windows98. In the Bios there was a setting to use VIA IRQ routing or Win98. I changed the setting from VIA to Win98 and that cured the problem. I think this option in the Bios was a leftover for win95 which doesn't support Via chipsets natively.

I believe the motherboard was a Shuttle 591P.

You can also just move the card to a different slot thereby forcing the system to redect and reassign the IRQ.
