S.B. LIVE! PROBLEM.

CONFIGURATION:
CPU: INTEL 166MMX
M/B: SOYO SY-5EHM5
RAM: 128MB
VGA: I-740
HDD: QUANTUM 3.2SE
OS: WINDOWS98
SOUND CARD: S.B. LIVE! OEM

PROBLEM:
WHEN PLAYING A PREVIOUS RECORDED WAVE
(SAMPLE RATE 11KHz AND ABOVE) I HEAR A STRANGE NOISE, EVERY TIME THE HDD READS.
THIS DOESN'T EXIST WHEN RECORDING AT 11KHz
OR 8KHz SAMPLE RATE.
ANY IDEAS?

I'M PRETTY SURE IT'S THE CPU SPEED.

ANY IDEAS WOULD BE WELCOME...
