    Unhappy Creative vibra 128

    Hy,
I have a Sound card: "Creative Vibra 128" but the problem is that the sound output is very low. i hear almost nothing. I have installed the latest driver but in vain.
    I have a P1 166Mhz, 32Mb and 2 speakers without power on.

    Please help me

The output on soundcards are designed to power headphones. If your speakers have the option of being powered then the minimal 5watt or less output of the soundblaster probably isn't enough to drive yours speakers. I would suggest spending $30 on a cheap set that has a powered sub and two satellites or put power to the speakers you currently have.

You can also purchase an AC adapter from Radio Shack that you can use with your existing speakers. Make sure you write down the power information from your speakers (Volts and Amps)

As a cost-cutting measure, most companies quit building sound cards with a built-in amplifier (like the original SoundBlasters used to have) a long time ago. Like the others said, now you have to power the speakers instead.

Some sound cards have two jumpers on them that switch between amplified and line-out.

From the looks of it, the Vibra does not have these jumpers, so you need to either get a power adapter for the speakers, or buy a cheap pair of amplified speakers.
