    Post ATI RAEDON 8500 and TV OUT

    Well I have been trying to get dvd film on my widescreen tv via tv out, I can get the windows desktop but not the film, any ideas

    i'm assuming that you don't have it plugged in through a vcr or anything, right? The copy protection stuff usually kicks in if you have the signal going through a vcr and won't show the movie or will show the movie but have a blank blue screen or something throughout. Try plugging directly into the tv

    Are you watching the TV, and the computer monitor simultaneously? If so, you could try removing the Monitor from your computer and see if the video shows up on the TV. If your TV has an HDTV d-sub connector, you could try connecting your computer's VGA port directly to that and get better video than the tv-out. If you go that route you should read <a href="http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?s=1923cba89a9a4a16fee1a225744727b 5&forumid=26" target="_blank">this forum</a> for help with resolutions and refresh rates for HDTV monitors.

    can u get windows on your widescreen tv? , if so anmd u cannot get a dvd to play , then it will be a question of copy right , try playing a AVI thru mplayer2 then reply
