Hello, I bought one of these (semi-ok burners) a while ago, all worked well, and how it was supposed to, despite the occasional errors caused from it being external.
Anyhow, here it is about 2 years later, and I can't get the SOB to work. For about 3 months it was not working (installing adaptec froze my system, even after reformatting and reinstalling fresh). Long story short, I got the drivers installed, and Adaptec etc, and it all shows up in My Computer and loads ok, but when I put in a CD, NOTHING happens. I get a green light on the burner while it attempts to read, then I get 4 orange lights, almost like a beep code, that appeare to be telling me "Somethings in here, but it ain't a CD". I looked on the Micro-Solutions FAQ and Contact sites, they don't have an E-Mail address or anything, so I figured I'd ask here first before calling.
Does anyone have any clue what might be causeing this, I don't think the burner is dirty, simply because NOTHING even ATTEMPTS to read, Blank CD, Data CD, Music CD... nothing. I'm going to get a CD-Cleaner anyhow and try to clean off the laser, other then that I'm stumped.
