Hi there,I own the Gigabyte GA 5AX mobo and I like it but I have one complaint and that is with the BIOS
I cannot manualy assign IRQs to my PCI devices
I have a Creative ensoniq PCI , Realtek Network card,Lava port paralle port card for my zip drive
Creative graphics blaster Riva tnt 2 32 meg AGP
Now here is the problem both the paralle port card and the graphics blaster are sharing the same IRQ which has caused an annoying problem which is when I turn on the system the BIOS will not initialize the system and I get the " No video " display on my monitor ( 17 inch Sceptre dragon eye )
I even get this condition on a reset ( restarting Windows )
Once I pull the paralle card out everything is fine, but I need the card in there for my zip drive because I take my zip drive off to service PCs sometimes and I hate how the ATX style printer port flexes when I install the printer cable so I dont want to wreck my mobo if I am ever ina hurry removing my zip drive, the card is solid compared to the built in printer port
If anyone has an idea on how to manually set up the IRQs I would appreciate it
The Asus P5A mobo is the equivilent to the GA-5AX but it allows you to set the IRQs by the PCI slot, same chip set I wonder if that BIOS would work but I doubt it
Please help me or I guess the card has to go by by
