A customer of mine has an Adara Slimstar 1 which he bought from QVC?, HSN? and I am looking for the drivers for WIN98. I have tried for the past three days to log on to the www.adara.com (http://www.adara.com) site and it appears that they have been off line for those three days. The question is are they still in business? Does anyone know where I could get the drivers for WIN98? Yes, I've tried many other drivers sites and this site ( good going!! ) is the only one to list Adara. I've had the customer start looking for the seller receipt and they will give them a call. A bargin is a bargin until you try to upgrade.
Thanks
Mike

I just recieved a message from Dave Trowbridge, of ZDNET. I also need new drivers for the Adara SlimstarI. He stated that it looked like Adara had gone out of business. Hate to say it, but if we can't find the new drivers, it looks like we are stuck with a hunk of junk.

Dave,
I've received e-mail referencing the drivers for Adara. I've downloaded the driver and other miscellaneous files and will be testing them today or tomorrow. The reply came direct so I will respect their wishes. After I test and if it works I will post the info. Either way I will let you know.

Hello
Point at http://www.mteklab.com/ and pick up ScanWizard v2.54 on the Tech Support/Drivers page. It works well!!
I'm running WIN98 OEM full. I deleted the printer drivers and software. Rebooted the system and set the lpt1 port to EPP+ECP v1.9 in the BIOS. Loaded ScanWizard, it found the scanner (different name and model, by the way)and setup the scanner. Rebooted the system and reloaded the image software that came with the Adara. The scanner even works a tad faster. Shutdown the system and attached the printer (Lexmark 5700) to the parallel port on the scanner and made sure that both scanner and printer were on and then powered up the system. Went thru add a printer in START - SETTINGS - PRINTERS and low and behold a Lex 5700 was found and added.

The driver looks very good and works even better. Tried printing and scanning at the same time VVVery slow, but no errors.

Looks like a winner.

If anyone is interested in getting the Drivers for the Slimstar1 (for Windows 98) just contact me. I was also looking for it for quite sometime and finally got it from someone... Whew! Otherwise I would have ended up with a big paperweight.
