How can I instal the display card of Intel740 AGP?????????

After I formatint the computer...
I need to instal the display card as only 16 colors can display out..
and I want to know where can I get the files I need to install...as I have no disc about this at all ....

Hi,

I have the same problem! Windows installs my intel740 as a Chips&Technologies accelerator! If you already solved the problem, let me know how!!

Drivers can be found on the Intel website.

I have also had the same problem. I had to format my harddrive, and after I installed w98SE and the latest i740 drivers from the Intel site, my machine only runs at 16 colours, 640x480

Oh lordy, thank god it's not just me, but here's the solution.

1. Intel's 740 video card goes on an AGP slot in your machine. If you want to know what AGP is then "Ask Jeeves". You need drivers for AGP slots so do searches for AGP drivers and try a few. If properly installed they should appear in your <start><settings><control panel><system><device manager><SYSTEM DEVICES> as AGP PCI controllers or something like that.

2. Intel only supplies the blinkin chips to other makers so you may never find out who made your video card. Again, search places like this, and any where else you can find drivers for 740's and try them.

I recently loaded windows Me and contrary to what Microsoft will have you believe it does not really recognise AGP. I have got it working OK now, but the video is a touch slower. I'll keep on trying different AGP and 740 drivers till I get the right combination for my PC.
