cdrom driver update?

I have an IBM thinkpad 310 laptop computer with one of your cd rom drives internally installed. I am having a problem reading cdroms from cd recorders. It assumes the cd is a music cd. When I explore the drive it says "track1.cda" the original device cdrom is a <mat****a UJDCD8730> can you please tell me where I can find an updated driver to fix this problem?. I have tested the cdr's that were burned on 10 other PC's and there was no problems reading the cdr media in those machines. The problem only occured when I tried to run the cd in my laptop that is why I think I need an updated driver.
