help with Matsu****a DVD rom

I recently attempted to install net nanny and it didnt install properly so i uninstalled it and tried to reinstall it. Only this time it didnt work. The cd drive icon is gone from the my computer window and when i try and run a different cd i keep getting messages like " cannot find drive" etc... Do I have to reinstall the drivers?
Its a Matsu****a DVD SR-8582, that is all I know.
Can someone please help?

I have a similar model and once had a problem.
start up in safe mode and uninstall the device. restart the computer it should detect it automatically if not go to add new hardware and install manually. I hope that helps you out.
